Thank you so much for your support in helping the children learn their lines at home—it has been a huge help. Please continue to encourage your child to practice their lines at home, ensuring they feel confident and prepared when it’s their turn on stage.
A dress rehearsal will be held on Wednesday 27th November. On this day, children should come to school dressed in their costumes (please ensure all items are clearly labelled with your child’s name). After the rehearsal, they will change into their school uniforms, leaving their costumes at school for Thursday’s performance. We kindly ask that you provide a labelled bag for the costume to be packed away.
Miss Travis has requested your assistance in supplying your child’s costume. Should you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact her directly at htravis@broomfieldhouse.com.
Parents of Pre – Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 children are invited to the shows. We would be grateful if parents could stay for all four performances.
Thank you once again for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you at the performance.
Pre-Kindergarten are looking forward to welcoming the amazing Forest School for their session with Scott on Friday 22nd November. They will take part in some fantastic outdoor learning exploring the natural environment, crafts and finishing the session with snack and songs around the campfire. We cannot wait for all the excitement.

On Friday last week Year 5 delivered a thoughtful and moving assembly on Remembrance Day. They highlighted the importance of remembering those who have served in times of conflict and honoured those who have passed before us. Scarlett wowed the audience with a beautiful piano performance while Valters played a fantastic piece on the Trumpet. At 11 am on Monday, the whole school gathered on the playground for the two-minute silence led by Mr. Anstey, Head Girl, Ella and Head Boy, Victor. It was a poignant moment for everyone to reflect and honour the sacrifices made by so many.
This week the children had their first Year 1 school trip to Gunnersbury Park Museum and they were excellent ambassadors of Broomfield! The children started the day with a tour of the museum and experimented with old toys and games. They also dressed up in historical costumes and got to use an old fashioned stamp set to create a piece of art which they proudly brought home. After this, the children took part in a toys workshop where they discussed how vastly toys have changed over time. They looked at an array of past, present and future materials and made comparisons on toy development! It was really wonderful watching their learning in class come to life throughout the workshop. At the end of the trip, the children enjoyed time in the gorgeous outdoor playground where we witnessed pure joy and children really getting to be children in the glorious sunshine and outdoor space! A huge thank you to our parent helpers who were incredibly helpful and hands on throughout the day – Harry + Millie’s mummy, Joshua’s mummy, Natasha’s mummy and Jules’ mummy – you were a dream team and Mrs Hyun and I were very grateful to have you with us on the day.
The children wore their brightest and most mismatched socks to school on Tuesday to celebrate difference and to raise awareness for Anti- Bullying Week. Odd Socks Day is an important fundraising event for schools across the country, to highlight the importance of inclusivity and respect. It was a wonderful day filled with colourful socks, and kindness!
Year 1 is thoroughly enjoying their time in Forest School, where they experience nature in hands-on ways. They are developing skills like safely cutting wood, which builds their confidence. Along the way, they learn about the importance of trees and wildlife in our ecosystem. Children are encouraged to observe the changing seasons, listen to the sounds of nature, and explore textures and patterns around them.
Whilst learning about Ancient Egypt, Year 3 were keen to explore how and where pharaohs were buried when they passed away. Using clay and a range of acrylic paints, the children made their own sarcophaguses to support their learning in class.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Jeans for Genes Day fundraiser! We raised £154 to support genetic research and help children with genetic disorders.
Year 3 learned about the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo and created a mixed media self-portrait exploring the shapes of flowers and working with different art techniques.
