Whole School Photograph – Monday 24th June 2024
We are excited to carry on the traditional whole school photograph which will be taken in school on Monday 24th June. All children must attend school on time and in the correct uniform along with their hats. Mrs Crocker will provide information after the event for all parents who wish to purchase this fantastic keepsake.
Kew Fête – tomorrow 22nd June
A reminder that Year 4 children will run their annual Elderflower Stall at the Kew Fête tomorrow from 11am – 6pm. With recipes and delights that have all been made by hand, it promises to be a fun and delicious event. Parking can be sticky around the Green, so we suggest you jump on the tube/bus. Entry is free and we look forward to seeing you there.
Senior School Musical – Save the date
We are looking forward to presenting Peter Pan, which is our Senior School Musical for 2024. The children have been rehearsing and practising the fabulous songs and we can promise you it is going to be an amazing show. This year we have decided to prioritise tickets for families in Years 5 and 6 as this is their only annual production. Therefore we will not be offering tickets to parents of the children in Year 4. The Year 4 children will still be required to attend as they sing beautifully as the additional choir. There will be two performances, an evening performance, which will take place on Thursday 4th July at 6pm, and a matinee performance, which will take place on Friday 5th July at 2pm. Please save these dates in your diary. The younger children will all watch the performance during the dress rehearsal so we ask that no younger siblings attend either of the final performances. Mrs Doyle will be sending an email next week to all parents in Years 5 and 6 to book your tickets.
Den Day – 4th July
Den Day, which was originally planned for next week, will now take place on Thursday 4th July. All of the children will have fun building dens in school to raise money for Save the Children. It will be a fun way for us to raise funds that will change children’s lives, whilst learning new skills, including team building. Once the dens have been built the children will enjoy a picnic lunch inside their dens. On Wednesday 3rd July, we kindly ask that each child brings in an item from home to help build the dens. This can be cardboard boxes, a blanket or a sheet, some clothes pegs, or any other item from around the house that might make good building materials. A link to donate to Save the children can be found by clicking here.
Summer Camp: 15th to 19th July
Our Broomfield Summer Camp is in hot demand. This fun bumper packed week is something that all the children look forward to. It is run by our staff and is supported by members of our school community. There are two sessions each day; mornings run from 9.30am-12 noon and afternoons between 1-3.30pm. Children staying for a whole day should bring a packed lunch which must not include nuts or eggs. We provide drinks and snacks. If you missed the form in last week’s newsletter don’t worry, there is still time to sign up. Click here to complete the form Summer Camp Form 2024 and email Mrs Crocker on admin@broomfieldhouse.com if you need any assistance or information.
Clubs and Enrichment – Autumn 2024 – Important Information
Some clubs are very low on numbers and sadly cannot run if we do not garner more interest; Gymnastics, Monday Science, Multisports, Football (both boys and girls), Fencing and Netball club are all below the minimum requirement. If your child is interested in signing up please do so this weekend via the SOCS portal or email Mrs Crocker on admin@broomfieldhouse.com.
If you do not have a SOCS login, please see details below on how to set up your SOCS login.
How to set up your SOCS account
Please follow the link below to access SOCS for the first time and to setup a personal password for the system. We recommend saving this as a shortcut so the link can be accessed as needed.
https://www.socscms.com/login/25032/parent

Follow this link to guide you through the process if you have any issues creating your password: https://help.socscms.com/Page.asp?ID=349&CatID=28
How to book into additional clubs
When you first see the system, it will show each day of the week along with the activities you are currently booked onto and other options which you may wish to book your son and daughter into.

We hope you all received a flyer about the fair and auction in your children’s school bags this week. The auction is still going with some great prizes up for grabs – so please take a look and consider bidding. We have raised £2K already, which will go towards bringing magical moments to our children in the next academic year, as well as the purchase of Broomfield Bears for new starters.
More details about the upcoming Summer Fair will be revealed next week, so look out for this! In the meantime, one more week left for donations…and to make things easy on the day, purchase your entry wristbands and tokens in advance on Friday morning!
A hearty bunch of BHS parents and children gathered on Saturday morning at Old Deer Park to test their mettle on a damp morning. While a large crowd gathered under leafy branches and umbrellas to cheer them on, the fast, fierce, and relentless runners took three laps around the park for a jaunty 5K. Some of the children even got in on the action and ran a lap. Magnus and Melody (Y3) took on the entire 5K at an impressive pace.
It was amazing to see families from every year come together for some (very) fresh air and breakfast treats.
Congratulations to Nicole (Frankie Y3), Leon (Oliver, KG), and Mr Anstey—all who came in well at the front of the pack.
Broomfield House bathed in glorious sunshine on Wednesday, as we held our annual sports day at the prestigious London Welsh ground. After a closely fought contest for points, congratulation go to Mead House who was ultimately victorious.
Two exceptional records were shattered during the competition. Noah (Y6) soared above the competition in the high jump, clearing an impressive 1.20 meters, setting a new school record. Not to be outdone, Beatrice (Y6) unleashed a mighty throw in the shotput, launching the shot a staggering 13.9 meters, another new Broomfield House record.
The competitive spirit wasn’t limited to the children. The parent races provided endless entertainment, with cheers and laughter from the sidelines as mums and dads dug deep to claim bragging rights. The staff race was another highlight, showcasing some surprising athleticism (and perhaps a touch of competitiveness) from Broomfield House’s teachers.
Overall, our Sports Day was a resounding success. It was a day filled with sunshine, records broken, and memories made. Thank you to Mr Pache for organising such a wonderful event and congratulations to all the participants, especially the record-breakers Noah and Beatrice!
Photos are now available to download from the gallery on the Parent Portal. Please do not share group photos online (including social media).
We had a wonderful morning on Thursday, welcoming all new families to Broomfield House School! Mr Anstey and Mrs Pache talked about the importance of communication and collaboration between parents, teachers, and children to ensure a holistic and supportive learning journey.
The children settled really well and enjoyed a beautiful sunny morning with the Early Years team.
Two more weeks to go! We will select 10 lucky winners on 10th July.
Make the most of the sunny weather this weekend, enjoy the walk, and start important conversations about how we can all contribute to a greener future. Let’s make a positive impact together!
Send us your photos from the Eco Trail for inclusion in Friday’s newsletter to: news@broomfieldhouse.com.

We are celebrating World Book Day with a truly special treat this year! Following the success of yesterday’s incredible Dukes Great British Bake Off, we are launching our first-ever Dukes Great British Bake-Off Recipe Book with families this week.
Finalists from across the Dukes family showcased their delicious, book-inspired bakes to a panel of judges at Dukes House, and their creations were simply too yummy to resist! From magical cakes to literary-themed pastries, the creativity of all the finalists was nothing short of extraordinary.
We were delighted to be joined by Aatif Hassan, Chairman and Founder of Dukes Education, and Tim Fish, UK CEO, who celebrated the children’s fantastic creations alongside us.
A huge thank you also to all the English departments who took part, celebrating not just baking, but the love of books and storytelling through food. And last but not least, a special thank you to Lauren Carver Williams, Head of KS1 at Broomfield House School, for her incredible work in organising this event!
