RSHE Consultation
The school has reviewed the Relationships, Sex Education and Health Policy to ensure its compliance with new Government regulations, updated in 2025, that will come into effect from 2026. Despite this not yet being in force, we believe it is important to follow best practice and will implement this policy this academic year.
As a prep school we are not required to deliver the sex education element and we are not including this. However, statutory regulation requires that our curriculum must cover the relationships element and we primarily do this through our PSHEE Jigsaw provision. We give puberty talks to Year 5 and again in Year 6, reproduction in plants and animals is covered within the Science curriculum.
We would like to consult parents on the policy and welcome any feedback on it. Please email Mrs Sangtabi on ssangtabi@broomfieldhouse.com with any comments.

Kindergarten trip to Pizza Express 24/09/25
Kindergarten are counting down the days until their trip to Pizza Express! The children will transform into pizza chefs and cook up a storm. We will then return to school and have a delicious pizza picnic!
Mrs Ketel, 11+ Coordinator
London Welsh Rugby Club would like to extend an invitation to the girls at Broomfield House, inviting them to join us for a trial session at Old Deer Park, as we enter the 2025/26 season at London Welsh. The teams are set up to support the children as they grow and thrive, and we have seen an increase in the number of girls joining from around your community to enjoy a training session, make new friends and venture outdoors each week.
📢 Final Call for Survey Input

Broomfield House at the Hampton Boys’ 5-a-Side Tournament
Saturday 13th September 2025
Broomfield House School proudly competed in the Hampton Boys’ 5-a-side competition on Saturday, taking on some of the strongest footballing schools in the area. Our squad showed tremendous determination throughout the day, combining a gritty and disciplined defence with moments of real attacking flair.
The team worked tirelessly for each other, with several superb goals scored and some brave defending against much larger schools. After a series of close and hard-fought matches, Broomfield finished 4th in their group – a fantastic achievement given the high standard of competition.
Every player can be proud of their performance, and the school looks forward to building on this success in future tournaments.
Wednesday was a highlight for us at Broomfield! Thanks to our partnership with Brentford Football Club, our PE department had an amazing boost when the Brentford players visited. They joined in a friendly match with the children, shared their experiences in a Q&A, and signed autographs. It was fantastic to see pupils so engaged—asking thoughtful questions, showing teamwork, and leaving inspired. Big thanks to Brentford for making this visit so memorable!
We welcomed back Scott from Red Beard Forest School for our first session of the new term. This morning, Year 2 had a great time learning how to master new outdoor skills!
Jeans for Genes Day 2025 did not disappoint. The children enjoyed learning about ‘faulty genes’ and loved their fashion show in assembly. All of the children had great fun showing off their denim all day. From leopard print denim, to neon denim, to denim matching accessories, we were very proud of the children for doing their best to ‘stand out’ to raise awareness for such an important cause! Thank you all for the kind donations for this charity event.
Pre-Kindergarten engaged enthusiastically in their first art lesson. They explored the different components of a portrait, experimented with painting using coloured ink and created spontaneous portraits.
This week, Lizzie, our Year 6 Pupil Council Representative joined Mrs Carver Williams in assembly to launch the Pupil Council for 2025. She shared some new initiatives including: ‘The Pupil Experience’ and ‘The Pupil Ideas’ box. These boxes have now been placed in the atrium and Lizzie is a proud keyholder. She will meet with me once a week to look through the pupil’s experiences and ideas, ensuring our future decisions and updates are centred around the children’s experiences, wants and needs. We encourage any children who have any special experiences or quirky ideas to please pop them into the box each week so that we can share their experiences on this platform and work together to make our school an even better place. Lastly, if you want to be a part of the Pupil Council 2025, don’t forget to take your best pitches to your House Captain at your house meeting next week. Mrs Zammit, Miss Bendall and Mr Kennedy are eagerly awaiting your arrival! Watch this space…
Next week is National Forest Week, so it’s a perfect time to reflect and build on what the children talked about this week during Eco Club. They shared what they knew about the important role forests play in the world — from being fabulous habitats for numerous plants and animals, to providing ingredients for medicines and to also being large carbon stores by absorbing carbon dioxide during photosynthesis. We also discussed deforestation and the issues that it is causing to our world.
Well done to team Broomfield who had great representation from Year 5 & 6 in the 1 mile races last weekend. They did amazingly and braved the pouring rain for the Richmond run fest! Thank you to Mr Yarrow for sharing the snap.
