A Fond Farewell from Mrs Pache

Well, that’s a wrap on my 11 wonderful years at Broomfield! As I prepare to leave, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has made my time here so special.

To the children, thank you for making every day a new adventure. Your energy and enthusiasm have been a constant source of joy.

To my incredible colleagues, thank you for bringing such immense talent, fun, and laughter to every situation. It’s been a privilege working alongside you all.

And to you, the parents and families, thank you for your incredible kindness and support over the years. Your generosity yesterday truly overwhelmed me. The thoughtful cards, kind words, and wonderful gifts were so touching. The glass Broomfield ornament is absolutely amazing and will take pride of place in my new office, and I can’t wait to enjoy some serious retail therapy at Westfield!

I hope you all have a fantastic summer. I look forward to seeing you again soon – I’m already working on getting myself an invite to the 150th celebrations next year!

With deepest gratitude,

Mrs Pache

Kindergarten parents were sent 2 short video clips earlier this week, featuring the children playing ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little star’ and ‘Pop goes the weasel!’ We hope you enjoyed it. If any children are interested in having individual violin lessons with Mrs Kim-Shin in September, please email Miss Fourie. ifourie@broomfieldhouse.com

Thank You and Good Luck!

We would like to say thank you to Mr McNeillie who has been a guitar and drum teacher at Broomfield for the last 7 years. Mr McNeillie has taught and inspired many children over the years. As many of you will know, Mr McNeillie will be leaving Broomfield as he starts a brand new adventure starting up a ‘Rock School’ based on the American ‘School of Rock’ initiative. We would like to wish Mr McNeillie the very best of luck.

NEW guitar teacher in September

We have appointed a new guitar teacher to join our Music Department in September. We are delighted and look forward to welcoming Mr Dunsmore to our Music Department.

Miss Fourie will be writing to all parents of children who have been learning the guitar and drums this year and will advise parents of arrangements for guitar and drum lessons during the first week back in September.

Highlights

Year 6 Award Ceremony

The Year 6 award ceremony was an unforgettable outdoor celebration, filled with pride, joy and sunshine! Set against a beautiful backdrop, every child received a special award or cup, honouring their unique achievements and talents. From academic success and sporting triumphs to creativity, leadership and kindness, each award told a special story. Families and staff clapped and cheered as the children proudly stepped forward to accept their prizes. The atmosphere was electric, with smiles, laughter and even a few happy tears. It was the perfect way to celebrate their final year, an inspiring and emotional send-off.

Goodbye Mrs. Pache

After 11 incredible years at Broomfield House, we say goodbye to the brilliant Mrs. Pache. As Deputy Head, she brought wisdom, warmth and unwavering dedication to every corner of the school. Her leadership, compassion and sense of humour have left a lasting mark on staff, pupils and parents alike. Mrs. Pache championed excellence, inspired confidence and nurtured kindness in all she did. While we will miss her deeply, we’re thrilled as she begins her first headship at Wandsworth Prep. They are gaining a truly exceptional leader. Thank you, Mrs. Pache. You leave Broomfield better, brighter and forever grateful.

Pee Wee Karate Grading

On Monday, our Pee Wee Karate children took part in an exciting grading session, proudly demonstrating the skills they’ve worked so hard to master. From strong stances to focused techniques, each child showed great progress, discipline, and spirit. It was a joy to see their confidence shine through. At the end of the session, all the children were awarded certificates to celebrate their achievements and mark this important milestone in their martial arts journey. A huge thank you to all the parents and grandparents who came to support and cheer on the children.

Den Day

Den Day at school was a fun and exciting task where children worked together in their school houses to build amazing dens. They used teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills to design and construct their shelters. A special visitor, Alex Shirley-Smith, founder of the company Tentsile, came to school to talk about how his company designs and makes tree tents. The children were fascinated by his stories and ideas. Alex then joined the building sessions, offering tips and helping the children bring their dens to life. To finish the day, the children enjoyed delicious pizza in their tents, making the experience even more memorable.

Alex gave each house an award for their effort.

You can find more info about Tentsile here.

Poetry Recital

The children in Year 1 and 2 exceeded expectations and put on a remarkable recital that the parents and teachers thoroughly enjoyed. All the children’s creativity and confidence was celebrated with certificates and ice pops after the show! A huge congratulations to this year’s winners: Luke (Year 1) and Pippa (Year 2). What a wholesome tradition that has become a firm favourite in the Broomfield calendar!

In assembly on Friday, the Junior House Cups were awarded for excellence in Art, Science, Maths, and English. We celebrated our young achievers, applauding their creativity, curiosity, problem-solving, and expression. These awards honour dedication and talent, inspiring all students to strive for excellence across academic and creative disciplines in school life.
