Year 1 Trip to Syon Park

Today the children enjoyed a fabulous Forest School session with Scott! They laughed and learnt a lot. The session started with a sing-song of ‘Down by the Bay’ where the children created their own lines which included ‘a baby wearing gravy’, ‘a bee doing a wee’ and ‘a sled carrying a shed’. We then learnt how to make a fire and had a fire making contest in which Mrs Harland, Evelyn’s Dad and Zane’s Mum all impressed – clearly naturals! Everyone enjoyed hot chocolate or hot squash and then heard a story called Shark in the Park! To end the session, the children made charcoal leaf prints.

Artwork from the week

The Kindergarten children were inspired by seasonal themes. They explored the work of Yayoi Kusama and painted pumpkins decorated with dots. They also practiced their collage skills by assembling sunflowers with intricately decorated centers. Their fine motor skills are showing great progress and they have created some beautiful artwork.

Pupil Experience

Year 1 had the privilege of being read a brand new story, by a brand new author – our very own up and coming celebrity within our community. It was an honour to have Mrs Holliday, Alara’s mum, join us and share her collection of stories from The Log Trail Dragon. Their reactions and responses were priceless. More to come, watch this space…

Fantastic Football

On Wednesday 5th November, the Year 4 football team played a fantastic match against Prospect House. From the very first whistle, the team showed great energy, teamwork, and determination, controlling the game throughout. Their passing was sharp, their defending strong, and they created some excellent goals through clever movement and communication. Every player contributed brilliantly to what was a dominant performance, and Broomfield came away with a well-deserved win by a comfortable margin. It was a great display of skill and sportsmanship from the whole team.

Karate success for Rita

Congratulations and well done to Rita (Y5) who competed in the FSK International Karate Cup yesterday. She achieved a silver medal in individual kumite (sparring) and won the FSKA cup for the team kumite event.

Some fantastic pictures of Rita with her medals, her partner and the cup. Rita brought these to assembly today and everyone congratulated her on her amazing achievement.

Harvest Gratitude

We have received some lovely phone calls, emails and cards to school to thank the Broomfield community for their generosity and thoughtfulness with the wonderful harvest box deliveries. Below are some of the lovely messages:

Dear pupils of Broomfield house School

It was with great joy that my husband and I received two harvest boxes so carefully crafted and one with such such a beautiful card inside. These little treats mean a lot to people like my husband who is disabled and housebound.

What a generous and splendid idea

With grateful, thanks and very best wishes

Thank you vey much for the lovely harvest box delivered yesterday. Sorry I was not there to thank the girls personally. It’s a wonderful gesture and very much appreciated

Angie Hughes🥰

Thank you everyone at Broomfield House who put together such a delicious Harvest Festival Box for me.  Delivered to my door too by smiling faces.  I’m looking forward to sampling all the contents.  I also especially liked the wonderful card and the felt flowers.

Congratulations to all!

Bug Hotels

This week the eco club members made bug hotels using recycled old milk cartons. Once they decorated the cartons were filled with leaves and old rolls to make a nice dry home for any bugs looking for shelter and warmth in the colder months.
