We were delighted to welcome visiting author, Jennifer Bell, into school on Tuesday. Years 2-5 were enthusiastic about her talk based around her own introduction to reading, which had not always run smoothly. She nonetheless became a highly successful writer and our children were clearly fans of her books which focus on conservation and take their inspiration from protecting the animal kingdom. She talked of the joy in creating her stories’ characters and settings, and about how her research into animals and their habitats has taken her around the world.
