Broomfield is excited to announce the student officer appointments, under which our Year 6 pupils bravely take on leadership responsibilities as they become the most senior class in school. We are delighted that Jonathan and Rebecca (pictured), will be heading the team as Head Boy and Head Girl, providing direction and guidance to pupils across the school.
Our new House Captains, Sienna, Maya and Charlotte will be motivating children in Mead, Palmer and Rose to have fun together in tackling competitions, fundraising and team-building activities. Oliver and Talia, as Pupil Council Captains, will be seeking out the views of younger students to represent their interests on the Council, and help steer decisions about spending the funds made available by the PTA.
Chloe, Sachin and Tegan will be bringing their motivational skills to the fore as Swimming and Games Captains, and are looking forward to more competitive matches as soon as Covid-19 restrictions allow.
A Broomfield first is for a new Environmental Captain role, an easy choice as Alisha has been campaigning on climate change issues over a number of years and recently won a green Blue Peter badge. This is an area where we are planning some exciting changes and are keen to make sure the pupil perspective is at the heart of what we do.
In the creative arts, Mrs Bou was delighted to have Hannah take on the Head Chorister position and Danny and Ivie will have the opportunity to strut their stuff as Dance and Drama Captains. We saw some truly wonderful art coming into school during lockdown and Mrs Frey is keen to keep the standard high with the help of Art Captains, Amelie and Bella. Mr Montague and Mr Pache are looking forward to having the support of Reuben and Sara who have taken on the Computing brief and Mrs Cunningham is thrilled to have Ceci and Mark help her in the Library as Reading Captains.
Chess and Science Leaders are impatient to start these Clubs again as soon as possible and Chess Captains, Arjan and Charles, and Science Captains, Alfie and Isabel, are equally keen to get involved in these activities.
We know that Year 6 will embrace these roles with gusto. Their curiosity will help them investigate the opportunities offered, their creativity will generate imaginative ideas, their courage will lead them to try new things and their kindness will shine out as they develop options to help us make sure that Broomfield is the best it can be!
