Walking the corridors of power!

Posted: 3rd March 2020

The Houses of Parliament hosted Year 6 this week and they had a terrific day out learning about how Britain works.  They enjoyed a workshop entitled People’s Parliament about the power of protest and discovered some of the changes brought about as a result of the strength of public opinion.  They particularly enjoyed finding out more about the Votes for Women campaigns.  Their tour of these iconic buildings and the weight of history they represent was a particular highlight, as was meeting the MP for Richmond Park, Sarah Olney.  I wonder how many children might be inspired to go on to play a role in Parliament in the future?
