Mr Adam Anstey

Adam has been the Headmaster of Broomfield House School since February 2023.

Over the past seventeen years, he has held a number of prominent leadership positions in both day and boarding schools, in settings from Early Years to A-level and in the state and independent sectors.

He believes that a forward-thinking curriculum is key to preparing our children for an ever changing social, cultural, political, economic and futuristic landscape.  It is through a holistic methodology and an approach that recognises each child’s uniqueness, that we are best placed to inspire children to be the very best that they can be.

Adam has a wealth of educational experience. He holds a PDGE from the University of Aberystwyth, a NPQSL from Edge Hill University and, most recently, completed the Senior Leadership Programme certified by the University of Buckingham. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching.

Before moving to London, Adam was the Director of IT at Sherborne Prep School, where he also served on the academic and pastoral leadership committees. Adam has great experience of the senior school process, successfully supporting children and families in securing places to some of the world’s top senior schools. He is also Head of Assessment for Dukes, supporting colleagues on academic development across the region.

Mr Anstey has led expeditions for schools in the Himalayas, raced in 100 mile running events and climbed all over the world. He most recently completed the 3000 mile Race Across America (RAAM) which is billed as the toughest cycle race in the world. He is endlessly curious and strongly believes that Broomfield should provide the very best educational experience for each and every child that inspires empathy, compassion and integrity. Every day needs to be extraordinary.

Adam lives in London with his partner Sally, a teacher at Wellington College, their young daughter Indigo and their soft, overly affectionate Labrador, Lupin.
