Among top 15 UK prep schools

Broomfield House School, a small community-focused school in Kew Village has been recognised as one of the top 15 UK prep schools and one of the 100 leading private schools globally in the prestigious 2024 rankings by Spear’s. Receiving a spot as a Top Flight school in the Spear’s Schools Index 2024 along with Westminster Under, Dulwich Prep and St.Paul’s places Broomfield among the best prep schools in the country.

‘Broomfield House School offers a nurturing and supportive environment where students are encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Established in 1876 Broomfield is the oldest private school in Kew but despite its history reflected in the grand Victoria buildings, the school is forward-thinking, successfully mixing modern with the traditional.’ Spear’s Index, 2024

The selection process for this esteemed ranking was conducted by an expert panel of leading international educationalists including Matthew Goldie-Scot, Managing Director at Thuso, an international strategic consultancy focused on education and Ian Douglas, Head of Research at Spear’s. The advisory panel took into account a wide range of factors placing importance on social, cultural, and pastoral elements.

While examination results and academic attainment are crucial considerations, the ranking acknowledges the significance of a well-rounded education.

Broomfield House School remains committed to fostering an environment that nurtures academic achievement, personal development, and a strong sense of community.

“We are delighted to have been included in the prestigious Spear’s School Index 2024. Our innovative approach to education, not only ensures excellent academic results, but allows the space for children to be children, preparing them for a life full of possibilities. Our children are happy, successful and forward-thinking, ready to make a positive impact on the world. I am hugely proud of our dedicated team at Broomfield, our diverse school community, and our pioneering personalised enhancement programme.”

 About the Spear’s Schools Index

The Spear’s Schools Index is now entering its fifth year. Since its launch in 2020 it has garnered growing recognition in a range of national and international media, and an established reputation as a definitive index of the world’s 100 leading private schools.

The index was conceived as a key resource for international families and advisors to (U)HNW individuals and family offices, for those supporting relocation to major international cities, and for researchers and journalists seeking insight into the world’s leading schools.
