Sporting Success in Cross Country and Netball

ISA Cross Country

Broomfield took a team of 16 Cross Country runners to the ISA Competition today at Sherfield School in Hampshire.  They all did very well, running on such a chilly day.  Lenny in Year 4 did particularly effectively and has been selected to go forward to run in the National event in March.  He took the good news in his stride, encouraged by his fellow runners.

There was another sporting triumph last Friday when the Broomfield Red Netball Team performed exceptionally well in the ISA Netball Competition.  Sports Captain, Clara, reported, “Everybody played their hardest and did extremely well.  We won 6 matches and did not let our opponents get a single goal.  Our best score was 7:1!  Overall, we came in 4th place out of 15 schools, which meant that we qualified for the Nationals on 10th March.”  Mr Pache and Mrs Hughes were so proud of the girls, who worked strongly together as a team, maximising every opportunity.  We often compete in the Nationals in Swimming and Cross-Country but this is the first time the netballers have achieved this stage.  Well done girls.
