A lot of colourful characters from Harry Potter, fairy tales, the Wizard of Oz, the canon of Roald Dahl and many more were visiting Broomfield today. More than one Pippi Longstocking joined in the fun and we met Vikings, pirates, witches, knights and princesses. A rather scary lobster was seen in the Year 1 classroom along with a tiger, who had popped in for tea! Pre-Kindergarten was overrun with bears who showed a penchant for eating porridge, while Mary Poppins kept Year 2 in order. It was an exuberant gathering to celebrate reading and the wonderful stories that brighten our lives and expand our minds. We hope the children enjoy spending their World Book Day vouchers on some new and exciting adventures.
