A few years ago Broomfield was invited to meet a special visitor to Kew Gardens.ย Our Year 6 class at the time joined a lesson from the Kew Education Team on plant explorers past and present, while waiting for the VIP guest to arrive.ย Imagine their joy when the then Prince of Wales joined them, just as one of the girls had begun to feedback to the class about what she had learned.ย As you can see from the photograph above, the weather was rather inclement but this did not dent the children’s enthusiasm.ย How wonderful it is for those Broomfield alumni to look back on the day they met the man who is now King Charles III.
