Celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee

Jubilee Tea

On Friday, just before half term, we celebrated the jubilee with a delicious afternoon tea in the playground and thank our wonderful Chef, Tom, for a magnificent spread. We send the Queen our congratulations on this special anniversary and look forward to celebrating with our families on Sunday.

Our Art teacher has had a terrific time recently, encouraging the children in all year groups to create artworks inspired by the Platinum Jubilee.  The children each designed their own individual element which Mrs Frey brought together in class posters for the children and their families to enjoy at home.  As you can imagine, there was a wonderful array of many different reflections of the Queen’s 70 years on the throne; from crowns to teapots, corgis to guardsmen and carriages to palaces.  The children’s ideas and drawing skills flourished and we are so proud of their achievements.  Here are a few examples to feast your eyes on.
