Visiting Orleans House Gallery

Posted: 17th December 2021

Years 3 and 4 had a fabulous time visiting our lovely, local art gallery, Orleans House, to find inspiration among its exhibited artworks and for Art Workshops involving drawing, mark making and sculpture.

Here is a report from one of our Year 4 pupils who thoroughly enjoyed the school trip.

“At Orleans House Gallery we learnt about lots of different styles of art.  We got to make 3D sculptures, different objects out of tape and made some drawings without lifting our pencil from the page.  My favourite was making the 3D sculptures, I made a gold wire leaf.  We also got to have a look at the art in the gallery.  My favourite piece of art work was the picture of an Arabian soldier.  We were told to look for lines in the art and then draw the lines.  It was really fun!”  Faraaz, Year 4
