Diwali Celebrations

Posted: 12th November 2020

A variety of activities across all Year Groups helped us understand the many elements that make up that loveliest of celebrations: Diwali.

Kindergarten made some delicious chapatis while Year 3 made these beautiful and bright Diva Lamps, which are just waiting for a tea light to add the finishing touch.  Year 4 decorated the playground with stunning Rangoli Patterns to appeal to the  Goddess Lakshmi and Year 5 children who celebrate Diwali led a class discussion on their Festival of Light.

In the Dining Room, Mrs Byers took up the serving spoons to help dish up the amazing feast cooked up by Ms Scorer, our Chef.  There were nine different curries and Indian sweets to help us appreciate the culinary diversity of Diwali.

Cookery Club also took up the challenge and made samosas in their sessions this week.

We value the cultural mix that makes up our Broomfield community and had a lovely day exploring it.
