Maths in the great outdoors

Posted: 24th October 2020

A great afternoon for Year 4 as they learned about maths while in beautiful Kew Gardens.  Estimating and measuring the distance between trees and comparing their girth were the order of the day.  They were all particularly amazed at how they could make a close approximation of the height of a tree using a folded square piece of paper!  You will have to ask them the secret.  It was fantastic to be learning outside and working in nature.
