Black History Month

Posted: 27th October 2020

To celebrate Black History Month our children have been seeking inspiration from black role models past and present.  Our older children produced some amazing work exploring the influence of people as varied as Arybhata, mathematician and astrologer, Rosa Parks, Civil Rights activist, the extraordinary mathematician, Katherine Johnson, at NASA (featured recently in the film Hidden Figures) and modern day hero and influencer Marcus Rashford.  In Early Years the children celebrated their own ways to welcome diversity and be a good friend, to use their hands and actions to be inclusive and to value their own uniqueness.  We have a lovely display in our Atrium of some of this work and some photos of it are shown here.
