All in a good cause

27th April 2020

The energetic Sharpe family have been active in fundraising for the Starlight Children’s Foundation UK.  Mrs Sharpe had planned to be running the London Marathon for the first time this year, but undeterred after it was postponed, she set herself a new 2.6 challenge, running 10km everyday for a week round a local field followed by a handstand.

Yesterday, as well as completing the last 10km run (a total of 70km!), she also found the oomph for 26 handstands,  26 cartwheels, 26 headstands and 26 star jumps.  Her 3 children and her husband joined in with some of the run and also the star jumps, I bet there will be some sore arms and legs in her household today!  Well done, Jérôme, Olivier and Delphine (who also did the 26 headstands) for supporting your mother in raising donations which will make a difference to seriously ill children.

The Starlight Children’s Foundation UK supports children in hospital and with granting wishes and escapes.  Here is the link to Mrs Sharpe’s fundraising page in case you would also like to support her:

Summer Term Arrangements

Broomfield’s summer term has begun and so has our remote learning programme.  With a mix of live interactive sessions, task and project–based work our students are experiencing the full breadth of the curriculum.  Our lessons allow maximum flexibility for families juggling the schedules of both parents and children.  We have had some lovely feedback from our families, such as:

“Please say thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the staff, and I appreciate how much work it is also for the teachers to deal with the new schooling.” Parent of children in Years 3 and 4.

“Please extend my congrats and thanks to the staff that are doing a great job.  We really appreciate your effort and commitment with the education and wellbeing of our kids.”  Parent of children in Pre-Kindergarten and Year 1

We can’t wait to be back in school again, but it’s good to know that our new ways of working are appreciated.
