Broomfield’s annual Spelling Bee saw children across the year groups focus on class-based spelling quizzes and we were delighted with how well everyone did, making their teachers very proud.ย The Year 6 competition in class resulted in three children from each house competing for the trophy in the whole school assembly.ย As the competition moved forward one pupil from each house stepped up to the stage to spell for their House.ย The final head-to-head saw Mr Callander have to go further through his list of tricky spellings than ever before, as some faultless spelling was in evidence.ย The challenge culminated in a win for Palmer, although it was very closely fought, and a rousing chorus of cheers for some brave and clever spellers.
