Mrs Susie Byers

Mrs Byers joined Broomfield 15 years ago and led the classroom teams in Years 1, 2, 3 and 5, before joining the management team in 2014.  Becoming Headteacher in 2019, Mrs Byers is determined to promote and enhance the school’s child-centered educational experience, with bespoke approaches for every individual child.  Whether in formal classroom settings, extra-curricular activities or charity work, she values the contribution of all aspects of school life in developing well-rounded and caring children.  Mrs Byers’s personal philosophy is to encourage children to contribute fully to school life and use their voice to shape the future of our dynamic community.

The excellence of the education children receive at Broomfield is apparent to me both a Headteacher and as a mother.  My two children attended Broomfield before going on to secure places at excellent local senior schools.  The confidence they acquired in our happy, homely environment will stand them in good stead throughout their lives.  I am never happier than working with the children, so I am keen to maintain everyday contact and operate an open-door policy.

Renowned as a lover of her two poodles, Boris and Basil, Mrs Byers enjoys nothing more than to potter along the river with the dogs and as many members of her family that she can persuade to join her.

Excellent in all areas: ISI Inspection Report

We are delighted to share the findings of the recent ISI Inspection which rated Broomfield excellent across all areas, both in the academic and other achievements of the pupils and in their personal development.

Here is the link to the report itself so you can read the inspectors’ wonderfully positive comments for yourself.
