Cold Weather Approaching

As the cold weather has arrived and with it the arrival of colds, flus and viruses, we remind parents to not bring their child to school if they have a temperature or have been unwell in the night. We are grateful for your support with making sure we stop the spread of any viruses in school. Our policy for temperatures is 24 hours and our policy for vomiting and/or diarrhoea is 48 hours before the children can return to school. This is inline with NHS guidelines. Thank you for your support.

On Wednesday, the Broomfield Year 6 Netball team showcased their exceptional skills in a commanding victory against St Catherine’s School. The girls played with precision and determination, demonstrating excellent teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the match.

The Year 5 Football team put up a valiant effort against Kew Green Prep, but ultimately fell short in a thrilling 60-minute match, losing by a single goal. Despite the loss, the boys demonstrated exceptional ball control, passing, and finishing, showcasing their promising future in the sport.

Well done everyone.

Smartphone Free Movement

Over the past year, there has been a growing parent led grassroots smartphone free movement; and parents across the country have signed pacts stating they will delay giving their child a smartphone. In addition, many secondary schools have recently changed their policies.

The leaderboard was released recently week and after a lowly initial position, BHS are now mid point! We would love for parents who believe that delaying smartphones has benefits to children to sign the pact- let’s see BHS climb up!

A Musical Morning: Guitar Fun and Lessons Ahead

On Wednesday 2nd October, Mr McNeillie, our fantastic Broomfield guitar teacher, joined us for our morning assembly to give the children a guitar demo. The children had a great time watching Mr McNeillie in action as he played the electric guitar, and they enthusiastically joined in by playing their ‘air guitars’. Some were even inspired to think about starting guitar lessons themselves!

Parents interested in arranging a trial guitar lesson for their child should email Miss Fourie, Head of Music directly, expressing an interest in individual guitar lessons. Please be sure to include your child’s name and year group in the message.
