Children are put into Houses (Mead, Palmer and Rose) in Year 2. The Houses are headed by a class teacher and the allocation is usually done by the Deputy Headteacher. Siblings generally are in the same House.
Children are rewarded for good work, effort and behaviour with House Points and the cumulative and weekly totals are read to the school during Friday assembly by the House Captains. There are also House sports competitions (football, netball, athletics at Sports Day, and swimming in our own gala). Each House runs a raffle and cake sale for its chosen charity which we support for a three yearly cycle. These charities generally concern children and are often suggested by parents, staff or the children.
